Introduction

The Flight School

Sky Africa Flight Training was developed to provide an Airline-standard training environment, not only to train professional pilots, but to allow private pilots to raise their skills to the highest level. Many schools aim to offer Airline-type training but lack instructors with airline experience. The second objective of the school is to provide this level of training at a vastly reduced cost from the major training facilities. We do not claim to have the biggest training school, nor is this our goal. Our school is run on a more personal basis, with limited number of students to ensure you receive maximum attention. We will customize your training package to suit your requirements and time-schedule.
But most importantly the school was created because we love flying, we are passionate about aircraft and love the buzz of aviation. And we want to share this passion with you!

What are the benefits training in South Africa
vs. Europe or USA?

As we are all aware, September 11th changed aviation forever. New legislations, security checks, increased legal requirements and inspections have dramatically restricted aviation training and the freedom for pleasure or sport flying. More importantly for the enthusiastic aviator, it has drastically increased the costs of learning to fly, and enjoying the freedoms flying brings to us.

Sky Africa Flight Training, based in Johannesburg, is vastly unaffected by these new restrictions. South Africa remains a country of untouched beauty and vast open space. Based at Brakpan-Benoni airfield, we are not hampered by high traffic loads, ATC delays or flight restrictions. We are however in close proximity to Johannesburg International Airport which provides an ideal training environment. All training is based on approved ICAO standards.

South Africa is a sunshine state, which provides optimal flying weather 365 days a year. We have an enthusiastic Flying Club with our own swimming pool, entertainment area and bar for relaxing evenings after a good days flying!

This enables them to share the latest methods and procedures with you. They will introduce you to multi-crew operations, checklist philosophies, SOP’s and Crew Resource Management as used in the airlines!
