The following are questions we are frequently asked by our students, and hopefully this document will answer most of them:
Should your goal be a JAA licence, all your training will be recognised towards converting your licence to a JAA licence, either by validation or conversion.

Q)Do you train foreign students?
A)Yes, We specialise in training foreign students, to provide you with airline- standard procedural training at a significantly lower cost. We have and are currently training students from Germany, Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, USA, UK, Holland, Aruba and more each day!
Q)What is the cost of your course?
A)This depends on whether you have any previous experience or not and the type of training you would like to complete. Your training package will be custom planned based on the licence and qualification you would like to complete. On average our training is much cheaper than Europe or America.
Q)What language do you train in?
A)The International Aviation Language is English and this is our primary language. This is important for all students as the International aviation language is English. Students must be able to read, write and speak English. Flight Training briefings may also be given in German. We have several German speaking Instructors. Other languages include Afrikaans. Basic proficiency in English is required.
Q)Do you provide accommodation?
A)We can suggest a few options according to your budget and requirements and can assist with contact information. You must contact them directly or arrange other accommodation yourself.
Q)Do I need a visa?
A)You may not need a visa depending on the passport you hold. Please visit the website of the South African Consulate in your country to determine if you require a visa. A list of South African Consulates around the world can be found at:
Q)How do I apply for a training course?
A)Once you have decided to attend our training course we will forward the enrolment documents to you. The completed application documents must be faxed/emailed back to us with a copy of your passport. When completing the application documents please be very specific about which training you would like to complete. This assists us to provide you with more efficient service. Once we have received the documents we require a deposit to secure your training position. We will send you a letter confirming your enrolment in the course. This letter may then be used to assist you in obtaining your visa.
Q)Where are you based and how do I get there?
A)We are based at Benoni/Brakpan Airfield (FABB) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Direct flights are available from major cities all over the world. You will be collected from the Airport on arrival, at no cost to yourself.
Q)Do I need perfect health and eye-sight?
A)No, you need to be in a good state of health and you may wear prescription glasses. As part of your course you will need to pass a South African Medical Exam. This will be Class 2 for PPL and Class 1 for Commercial. The medical will be conducted in Johannesburg; the cost is included in your course.
Q)What are the requirements for me to attend your flight school?
A)We recommend you hold a High School Diploma as a minimum. You need to be over 17 years of age and be able to pass the medical test. You need to love flying and enjoy travelling and meeting people and having a really good time! Basic understanding of English is necessary as lectures and radio work are in English. Instructors and other students can always assist with translations.

Q)What are the benefits of flying in South Africa?
A)Low-cost, lots of sunshine, immaculate aircraft and professional training. We have minimal restrictive controlled airspace, no low-level height restrictions, lots of beautiful scenery and more wildlife than the rest of the world!
